UKNM: measuring audiences and advertising on the web

I don't usually post praise for other companies but, touch wood, there is a

new development on the horizon which will make many of us (internet

marketers) happy.


ACNielsen (80%) and NetRatings (20%) are to launch a global service for

tracking internet audiences and advertising.

This is long overdue and given ACNielsen's background and their committment

to spend $50 million dollars on the rollout, it looks like a winner.

The service is due to launch end of first quarter 2000 and encompass 90%

(over ambitious?) of the world's internet audience by the end of 2001.
