Referee! Sport tackles Social Media

The news that footballer Marvin Sordell has sought treatment for Twitter addiction has kickstarted a new debate about sport and social media.

Plenty of ink has been spilled, with The Guardian’s Barney Ronay asking why 140-characters holds such a fatal attraction.

One thing is certain: it’s a mass affliction. In a minority of cases, such as Marvin Sordell’s, additional factors are likely to be in play, separating the “normal” obsession the rest of us are avidly and cheerfully pursuing.

As everyone knows, the great moments of the Olympics will be photographed & written about, with opinions of organisors, commentators and celebrities in the media - but what about the experience of the humble London resident?

That's where the #citizencurators come in! #Citizencurators is a research project developed by the University of Westminster for the Museum of London that explores what it is like to live in London during the Olympic fortnight (July 27 – August 12).

Transport for London Announce Which Stations Get Wifi

It's finally here, just in time for the Olympics! Transport for London (TfL) has announced which stations across the Tube and Overground network will be covered by a WiFi service.

Around 80 Tube Stations will benefit from TfL's new partnership with Virgin Media, with WiFi available in ticket halls, corridors and platforms from this summer. We'll finally be able to plan journeys (and replan when services are cancelled & delayed) and access travel news whilst in the station! (Map attached below).
