Not levels but depths. You can use the swapDepths method. For example:

swapDepths(5);

will set the depth level of the movie clip containing the code to 5. Or to
move movies to the front set a variable in _root called "z" equal to a
number larger then the number of items to sort, let's say
z=10;

then in the movie clip put:

//sample code
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
if (_x > 10){
swapDepths(_root.z);
_root.z++;
}
}

The other option is if you have 4 movie clips(ie clip1, clip2, clip3, clip4)
and in clip 3 you put:
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
swapDepths(_root.clip1);
}

it will swap the depths of those 2 movie clips.

Hope this helps.

Scott

Does anyone know of a good tutorial that allows a symbol to move to
different levels? I am trying to set up a symbol to move in front or back of
an object depending on where it is located on the screen.
