dustin,

After you save your art within illustrator, but before you copy and paste
into Flash, go to Object > Path > outline Path... This will convert your
strokes into objects with fill. This is especially important if your lines
are stroked with a variable brush or some sort of pattern.
Additionally, if your objects are not going to be edited individually within
Flash (like legs on a body, for example) you may want to Pathfinder > Unite
before you copy and paste to keep the objects complexity down.
