It looks like more of a graphics issue than a flash issue... they used a bit
of opaqe black, probably with an airbrush tool, and layered the words. So
essentailly look at it like this (basically):
Layer One: Black fade at edge of banner
Layer Two: Scrolling words
Layer Three: Black Background
This would give the illusion of a "fade to black" since the grey words were
in-between the two black layers.
Hope it helped a lil bit ;-}~

Subject: FLASH: EMERGENCY transparency!
I want to create a ad banner... it will be a white banner on a white
background... instead of having the text scroll in from the side and you can
tell that it came in from a blocky border, I want to create a white to
transparency fade on either side so it looks like the text FADES in... if
you
have no idea what I'm talking about, please look at:
sega.com
and on their site you'll see the same thing happening instead in black.. the
text looks like it FADES into the flash header at the top.
does anyone know how to use a gradient that goes from white to transparent
in
flash layers???
PLEASE help... need to be done in an hour.
Thanks
