Subject: | FLASH: Flash concatenates my numbers! |

Hi,
I have created calculators a million times in Flash, but have never run across
this and hope you can help me.
What I am doing: A simple calculation that takes 2 numerical variables (input
by user) and adds them together to create a third variable. Easy, right?
What is happening: The 2 variables input by the user are being concatenated.
ie: 2+4=24
Apparently, Flash is thinking the variables are text strings for some reason.
The really odd part is that an older version of this calculator works fine and I
am using the exact same script and exact same input form. What settings could I
have possibly messed up? This is not hard so it is kind of embarrassing, but
this is really odd so I thought I would see if anyone has any idea what
happened.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!
J
