	Hi Rosalind,


	The reason it probably doesn't work in IE3 (or 4 as well, I would 

bet) is because IE does not support navigator.plugins in JavaScript.  

Well, technically, the array is there for compatabilitiy, but it is 

empty.  IE uses ActiveX controls to install flash.  MM has a technote on 

using VBScript to detect the activeX object in IE - but I don't have the 

technote number handy.
