In PhotoShop, select the part of the image that you want visible (with the
lasso tool, etc. -- use a feather if you want). Then, click Select>Save
Selection. Save the selection as a New Channel. (If you click on the
Channel tab at this point, you will see the new Channel mask.) Save A Copy
as a PNG (make sure that the "Don't include Alpha Channels" box is *not*
clicked, and save.

Import this PNG file into Flash3 and the background should be transparent.
