Subject: | fumbling with layers |

Hi to all reading this!
I just started on this flash3 film, in which I have one layer with text
that I first broke apart and then outlined with the ink bottle. For the ink
bottle I used the fourth selection from the "line style" drop menu; the wavy
line. When I ink the letters of my text, I get small but oh-so-annoying gaps
in the new wavy outlines. So I thought "-Oh well, I´ll just insert another
layer and fill the gaps by drawing with the pencil!", (drawing in the same
layer twisted the outlines rather badly). Ok, it worked so far, and I now
have continuous outlines for my text.
Now I wan´t to create a symbol and get on animating the text.... how
do I do that? I tried to cut & paste-in-place the hand drawn "gap fillers"
to the text layer, but that also twists the oulines. Is there some way of
simply putting the layers together (like in Photoshop), or making a symbol
out of several layers?
Helpers are welcome to pay me a visit in Sweden and get a big friendly hug!
