If you don't like the effect of the wavy line outline don't use it.

What is happening when you combine the lines is that your new lines are

taking on the Wavy Line characteristics.


If you want the outline to be wavy without gaps, just curve the original

font's outside edge and then add a normal solid outline.

Cutting and pasting objects into the same layer combines touching

non-symbol objects into one image so you can symbolize the combined

image.
