Subject: FLASH: IE-cache, text file
From: Vincent Cocciolone

HI,
While building a simple application that updates content in a Flash
movie from a changing text file, I've found that IE caches it, and still
displays the old content :-(
The app is a very basic chat (just an experiment really :-) and the
main dialog window loops so about once per second it uploads the new
variables (the chat dialog) and should replace it in the movie. I've
tried several variations including: reading the text file directly and
reading the text file via a cgi script.
I've had no problems at all with Netscape, and no problems using it
as a stand alone player, but IE just doesn't seem to be updating as
expected. Any ideas anybody?
The chat can be viewed at:

(remember: this is just a prototype :-)

Thanks,

Vince
