Hi William,
Sorry to hear about your problems with upgrades - that sounds very frustrating.
1) Yes, there was a problem in the upgrade installers detecting Flash 3 in
some cases. We put up new installers on the 22 of June about 9am Pacific
time. If you downloaded after that, you shouldn't have experienced them.
Unless for some reason (for example, if you had acquired Flash 3
electronically) your Flash 3 was serialized with the Trial serial number -
it won't allow that.
2) There have been some issues with Mac ESD installation. Steps to resolve
them are located at
