The maximum file size in Flash is 4Gb. This limit is imposed by the fact
that the field that defines the file lenght is a 32bit unsigned integer.
Some problems have been reported however with file sizes above the 4 or
6 Mb size.
Flash 4 is quite solid, it does have some small glitches that have been
cropping up but nothing that should cause any undue worry. When you ask
'Is it safe ?' what exactly is the context you are refering to. Is it
safe to use as a gui elemnet in a nuclear control programme ? No. Is it
safe to use for building an e-commerce site ? Yes. But you could be
refering to some other type of 'safe'.
