Subject: | Flash as the Vector Standard on the Web? |

Hi everyone,
Is MM moving in the right direction? Let's hope so.
'But considering the momentum behind
Macromedia's Flash, could we look there for a
standard? Does the fact that Macromedia
became a member of the W3C last month tell
us anything? It wouldn't be surprising to see
Netscape incorporate Flash as a native format
in its browser, and Microsoft has been touting
structured graphics as an integral feature of
Internet Explorer 4.0. Could we be seeing the
beginnings of a standards showdown, much
like the current OpenType versus TrueDoc
dilemma surrounding downloadable fonts?'
The above is a quote from Jeffrey Veen in a new article at WebMonkey:
Vector Graphics - Image Format of the Gods?
