Johan,

I'd have to disagree with you... but hey my intent is
not to "convert" you into a photoshop user- use what
you like.

Some people like corel draw too... which proves my
point.

I work for an advertising company. We specialize in
web design as well as commercial art. When a client of
our gives us something in a "knock off" program it
tends to create more work to get it ready for
production.

The novice might find a user-friendly knock off
program easier for him/her but in post production, we
all hit a brick wall. It might have been better (for
us) if they had sketched out their ideas on a bar
napkin and given that to us instead.

I don't think it's fair to encourrage people to
dedicate themselves to a progam unless the program is
better then the industry standards.

Of course the industry standards may have became such
becuase they were at one time "knock off's"
themselves.

But don't sell yourself short, check out what people
are using.. chances are they are using it becuase it
is the best.

Photoshop can be a beast... I am spoiled. I have a
faster machine, and it loads and runs with no problems
at all.

just my 2¢
