Should work. Make sure the layers haven't changed attributes -- that is,
the motion guide is still set as a motion guide, the mask layer is set as a
mask, and the text layer is set as masked. If the motion never worked, be
sure the text is a symbol and is locked to the motion guide at the
beginning and end key frames for the tween.

If none of this helps, let us know what version you're in (3 or 4) and
consider zipping the .fla and putting it on a server somewhere that we can
grab it from.
