Hi guys,


In exporting to animated gifs, avi, or quicktime you can't have

interactivity this eliminates movie clips and buttons. 


These exports must be made in a straight timeline implementation.

In converting a regular Flash 3 movie to a non-interactive one, you can

convert your Movie clips to animated graphics that work directly on and

with the main timeline. You don't need to eliminate your MCs that are on

the main timeline but you do need to change their behavior to Graphic

and provide empty key frames following the MC (with animated Graphic

behavior) so it can act out on the main timeline.


If you are designing only for animated gifs or avi export then you

should build completely on the main timeline using standard Graphic and

animated symbols and not MCs.


If you have dual purpose regular Flash with an option to export as a

conventional non-interactive movie then it is best not to use nested MCs

for images because you will need to flatten them down to the main

timeline for the non-interactive version.


Real Flash it is also straight timeline but with limited buttons to

trigger external events. You also need to export as Flash 2 so you must

not rely on MCs or other Flash 3 only features.
