Subject: FLASH: cross platform problems-GetUrl
From: David Bausola

Has anyone come across cross platform problems regarding get url from a
projector?

after building the .fla and exporting the .swf on Mac, the GetUrl commmand
from the .swf or projector on PC doesnt want to know (doesn't launch a
browser or send variables to the asp page-which is what I'm using the GetUrl
command for) The Mac version works fine with both NS and IE

after building the .fla again on the PC, exporting .swf on a PC - all is
well. But taking the .fla back on the Mac, adding this .fla movie to another
.fla (built on Mac), exporting and returning to a PC to create a PC
projector / or taking the Mac built .fla opening it on a PC and then
generating the PC .swf - the GetUrl command dont work...why??

My guess is that the Mac .swf (when exported from Mac Flash) calls the
browser differently than how a PC .swf (when exported from PC Flash) calls a
browser.

Any clues how to get around this <yes, I need to use the GetUrl command> or
I am left with building 80% of the project again on the PC.

I'm up against the clock, so suggestions welcome ASAP...
