Subject: FLASH: Maximum amount of movieclips?
From: Danielle Roberts

Hello,

I've got a strange little problem.
My test.swf is 400 x 300 pixels and is covered with 4800 movieclips of 5 x 5
pixels.
The movieclips consist of two keyframes one of which contains a black
button, the other a white button. When one rolls over one of the buttons
they go to the other keyframe, showing the opposite color, thus creating a
drawing effect with black and white squares.

In the first frame the stage should be filled with the movieclips showing
the black button as this is the first frame in the movieclip (it has a stop
action assigned to it). The problem is that it does that only up to collum
67. After that is starts showing the movieclips in reverse. This means that
it starts showing a band of white movieclips on the left side of the movie,
which show the black squares when you roll over them.
I have absolutely no idea what could be the solution here.

If anyone could be so kind as to take a look at it I would be very grateful.
The URL is: http://www.xs4all.nl/~droberts/test/test.html
(The table you see is put around the swf to show its size.)

Thanks a lot, Danielle Roberts.
