Hi Nigel,

First, this is not off topic. Second you could have found the
information yourself if you went to Flash Central's Flash Tech Resource
and looked under Detecting Browsers for a link to the MM page:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/shockwave/info/smart/contents.html

The minimum acceptable version of Flash is set in your HTML page that
calls Smart Shockwave. If a user has that minimum version then he will
be told he doesn't need to download the plugin, if however he doesn't
have the minimum version that you have specified then downloading will
proceed with the latest version.
