Just keep working on it long enough, and eventually it will blur. At least
that's been my experience.

Actually, duplicate the same vector image on several layers as a symbol
that's partly transparent, and nudge the instances a pixel or so apart from
one another. Experiment with degrees of transparency.

Or overlay a gradient filled object in which the gradient goes from opaque
to transparent (0% alpha).
