I understand that and wouldn't expect it to either.
However, it would be nice that if video were embedded
into the flash movie, it would just rely on the user's
local video player but still allow it to stay within
the flash movie and not have to open a new window or
application. If the user didn't have the correct
video player, it would just show the class X or broken
graphic type icon. Isn't that the way powerpoint
(*shudder*) works - it doesn't play the AVI, the
windows media player (or whatever) plays the AVI, but
it gets to stay embedded within the presentation.

Maybe logic could be built into the movie to detect a
video player and if not available, write a message
saying "you need to download ...." all within the
flash movie.

Am I wrong in thinking that the video MUST open a new
window or player? My apologies as I haven't done much
testing on this since this thread started.
