Not sure if you still need it but after a week-end at the mountains, i thunk
about something else...

Tell us how much time you have to make it "speaking" once you have the text and
Can you get the text written or not.

Here is my thought:
1. You make 10 movies in the position Ryan was proposing or more for more
details.
2. You make a text variable (call it "input" for exemple) on the first frame and
you add about 10 frames after it.
3. You make a "big" library of words with the phonetik equivalent, like "hello"
= "EH", "LL", "OH" and add them on your scene with instance names.
4. You make ActionsScripts like this : if "input" = "hello", tell target "EH",
"LL", "OH"
5. Then you typ your text in the variable, you movies will load (speak) on after
the other...

Now if you need a "live" talking guy, install one of this typ-voice soft like
ViaVoice, DragonDictate etc..., and you will just have to speak in the micro and
will get the message typed in the variable and flash will do the rest...and if
you want to record it, send the variable one after the other to a database.

About 1 month i guest to do it.

Cheers

Marc
