Actually there is a way.

click the edit multiple frams button ( its a square button that is located
between the timeline and the stage, next to th eonion skin button i think)

once you have clicked that, select the timeframe that you want to edit (two
curly bracket things appear on the timeline move these to where you want to
begin and end)

Then press ctrl+A (select all) and perform your edit.

But dropping it in a mc is a lot easier
