Subject: Re: FLASH: URGENT HELP FLASH MOVIES SLOW ON SLOW PC

Others can't tell what the difference is there, just from the description
that an older PC plays things more slowly than you'd like. General notes:

-- Tips on optimizing Flash sprites are within the Director docs, yet are
frequently overlooked!

-- The Flash Player does realtime rendering of curves to pixels. The
larger the screen area, the more pixels must be rendered for each frame.

-- Pixel-based imagery can be expensive for download time and for
processing time... even a single pixel's worth of resizing or rotation
means that the computer must interpolate new screen pixels from the source
pixels!

-- You can control how the Macromedia Flash Player resizes pixel-based
sprites by the QUALITY attribute in your HTML. (The Lingo "quality"
property for Flash sprites offers similar options.)
