Hi Tim,


One technique: 


Let's say your main movie loads in _level0, and it has maybe 50 frames of

intro before it comes to a stop (your main navigation, perhaps).  Somewhere

around frame 40 (or even earlier, it you wish), put a frame action that

loads the second movie into level 1.


In the _level1 movie, put a stop in the first frame so none of the content

streams into view; all you're doing is loading the swf and preparing it to

be targeted.


Then, when you want your _level0 movie to give way to your _level1 movie,

just use a simple tell target to tell the movie in _level1 to play (you can

do this with a button action, or a frame action somewhere on the _level0

timeline if you need to first transition away from some content).


There are a bunch of ways to check if the _level1 movie is loaded before you

start shooting commands to it, but this, in a nutshell, is one way to do it.
