Matt,
Helen's way looks more sophisticated, but I'll show you mine too.

I have 13 frames
a variable called "seconds"
and some action script on frame twelve (this is for 12fps)
_______________________________
Set Variable: "seconds" = seconds+1
If (seconds=5)
Go to and Stop (13)
Else
Go to and Play (1)
End If
_________________________________

on frame 13 there is a success notification

I know this works too, but I don't know if it is accurately 5 seconds.
