Subject: | FLASH: x,y coordinate question |

Givens:
1. 0,0 is upper left hand corner of main timeline
2. a movie clip uses the reg point as center
(if user center point is checked)
I am confused about the coordinate system
inside a movie clip. When I move an object
around inside the clip, the x coordinates
functions as I expect: left of center =
a negative number and right of center =
a positive number. But, the y coordinates
seem backward to me: north of center =
a negative number and south of center =
a positive number.
Is it just like that and I should live with it?
Am I doing something wrong?
Is this a coordinate system of which I am unaware?
Any information would be of great help.
most thankfully,
rachel
