FLASH: can't get past preloading loop

First of all, thanks everyone for the advice on burning cd's for mac &

pc yesterday.  Still looking into which would be the best thing to use. 

Now the client would like this running on the web, so I've added a

simple preloading loop to it, which looks like this (with a yucky little

"please wait while we load this stuff" message in frames 1-3 for now):


frame 1:

initialize stuff


frame 2:

If Frame Is Loaded ("start")

      Go to and Stop ("mostloaded")

End Frame Loaded


frame 3:

Go to Previous Frame


frame 4 (mostloaded):

Stop

(show actual content, including button to goto and play("start"))


frame 5 (start):

start animation, etc


I make an html document and use javascript to open a new window with

this swf as the content.  Works fine when I test locally.  Works fine

when I run the swf alone on the web.  BUT when I run the html on the

web, the new window opens and I'm forever stuck in the preloading loop

(frame 2).  Also, when I try it with html file that Flash generates, it

runs fine locally, but on the web it sticks on the preload page forever

(even though I can see in the status bar that it's loading the whole

movie, way on beyond the "start" frame...)


What should I be doing differently?
