Arg,

This one is always good for repeated banging of the
head against the desk, cubicle, and keyboard....

Here's whats been working for me:
Break apart the text. Then covert to symbol.
Works like a charm, but then again it eliminates
the ability to retype the text in edit mode.

Like the leading has been changed (even for a single line of text)? The
topic
was bounced around before, but there was never an explanation for why it
happens. Try locking your font layers.
