Subject: RE: FLASH: Announce: new Flash web players available through Macromedia

Quick question...

How come the main Shockwave download page
(http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/) lists the latest Flash
player as "Flash 4 Player: 4,0,25,0 [...] Posted on: 12/15/99?" Is that
what it really installs to this day, or is this a typographical error? If
it is simply a typographical error, I would suggest fixing that info, as it
would lead Flash users to think they have the latest Flash 4 player when
they do not. If this is not typographical, then why are folks still being
offered the old, pre-bug-fix version?

Brad Bechtel of Flash QA wrote on Feb. 10th:

"We have new versions of the Flash web players available. Flash Player
4.0r27 (Mac) and Flash Player 4.0r28 (Windows & ActiveX) [...]
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/ will give you the
full list of available players. Otherwise visit
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/ to have the Macromedia site
deliver what it thinks is the appropriate web player for your browser."
