It depends on the server you are using and the type/size database your

connecting to.


The common contenders are CGI (perl) ASP and PHP 


ASP is used for NT servers, PHP & CGI can be used on both (I think) but are

usually associated with Unix etc..


Checkout MM Drumbeat for developing simple ASP database connectivity - and

get a good book. There's also loads of support sites available. Get the

lowdown on all three from Cnet.


As for the credit card transactions, you'll need a secure server etc. you

can do this yourself or get a third party company to handle the transactions

for you - it really does depend on the scale of the project.


Buy some books...get together withs techie..get info on the server etc.
