Actually, from what I understand, it was a simple supply vs. demand thing.

When Flash 4 Magic was written we weren't expecting as huge a demand as

there now is for it, however, New Riders press has been *very* good about

getting it back to the printers for new printings (Its currently in its

third!)

It just seems that the initial run of Flash 4 Bible was simply too small,

and its publisher has not been able to get back to print in a rapid manner,

hence the lack of supply.  I would guess that online book sellers are not

exactly on the top of the food chain when it comes to being able to get

high-demand books from publishers. Thats probably why so many people have

been screwed.

I know personally I have seen  Flash 4 Bible in 3 book stores now.

Sounds like the same type of thing going on up here. Had a friend order

Flash 4 Bible through Chapters.ca and was told that it usually ships within

24-48 hours... now he's looking at 4-6 weeks because they are *backordered*

and apparently never even had it in stock. Something strange going on with

these online book stores...

This was the case with me.  I noticed the discrepancy between their ordering

page for the book, which lists availability as shipping in 24 hours, and my

account page, which showed 1 to 2 weeks.  I then called them, and their

customer service dept. told me that I had been placed on the "reorder list,"

that copies had come in but they had run out.  I regarded this as an

inadequate excuse given that I had preordered the book on December 1st.


Apologies to Colin Moock -- I ordered it through your site to give you that

Amazon commission, but this kind of customer service on Amazon's part drove

me to cancel my order.  I'm going to buy it locally.
