IPIX gives you a spherical view.

I consult for a company that tested both IPIX and QT and ended up going with
IPIX for one reason - speed. IPIX lets you take 2 pictures and quickly
stitch them together. It's very fast, and even a monkey could learn how to
use their software. At the company I'm working with, we can go out and
shoot a virtual tour one day, stitch them up on the fly with a laptop -
simultaneously build the interface at the office and have the entire site up
and running the next day.

Don't you mean dis-advantage? And YES the $25 fee is a pain, but if you
build it into your budget, who cares?
