I think a major problem is that the slides were scanned from slides. I
don't have a drawing tablet as yet. I'm using NT, all serial ports are
filled, waiting for Windows 2000 which I've been told will activate the USB
port.

I got most of the problem with the hand fixed but its still slow.

Thanks to all for your help. onward... Just got John's book so I have to go
through that next.
