it it possible to detect a browser (ie/ns)

using javascript/fscommands and passing that into

flash as a variable where it can be evaluated on

a button press??


in other words:


javscript/fscommand told flash user was using

netscape and passed it the variable netscape = true

and on a button press it went something like this:


on press

 if netscape = true

	geturl javascript:aletBox(yo homes! you need

  	IE for this chat room cuz netscrape cant hack it!)

  else

	go to chatroom


ok well yall can see where im goin.  does this fancy

fs command stuff support the ability to do this and

if so anyone care to turn the light on for me - cuz

to be honest - as much as ive read on fs commands it

still seems kinda nebulous how to pass stuff this way

and who all supports it.  tanx

Hi folks.  Im stumped!


Internet Explorer can talk to asp and handle an all flash chat with

hardly a wait

but Netscape seems to drag and even sometimes quit passing strings to

and fro all

together and at random.  has anyone ran into this?? damn i am stumped

beyond

reason!  it seems that when throwing variables around from level to

level, 

these variables do not fulfill their proper functions if a chat room is

open

and calling an asp every few seconds in netscape.   although this

incidentally,

works fine everywhere else in a site.  always works great in IE however

but chokes

netscape to peices.  what to do??  anyone run into this yet or anything

similar?

anyone have any ideas why this is happening or what to do to solve it?

care for a url to see what im talkin about?  im at my wits end.  i feel

utterly

defeated, caught in a situation in which their are no possibilities,

however

creative, to remedy this situation - and all because netscape truly

cannot handle communication as well as it needs????  is this the hard
