yes you can. When you are making the first button, and you're in symbol
edit mode, select the up/over graphic and convert it to a symbol of its own
(F8 key). If all your buttons are very similar, you may at this point want
to duplicate the button once for each variation. If the only variation is
text, you may even wish to put the text on the stage alongside the button
rather than in the button symbol -- that way, you only need one button symbol.
