Subject: RE: FLASH: HTML site

another way of looking at it would be to make a very simple yet
elegant html version using *some* of the graphical styling and
navigation from your flash site, then the rest is text based.

this does all depend on the nature of the site, however, and without
a URL my comments could be misleading.

IMHO flash designers want to push the medium as much as poss. if the
html version is as funky looking as the flash site you are placing
yourself in a position where visitors may not think the flash
download is worthwhile [especially as a sliced up gif is still going
to give a hefty download without the benefits of flash].

visitors may also want to use the html version as an information
resource on return to the site after already having viewed the funky
flash site before.

the answer to your question does depend on the very nature of your
site. if it is very graphic laden and not content heavy then the
graphic slicing may be a better option. however, you may find that
this method does nothing for your site as it is bandwidth heavy and
you lose all the great things you were doing with flash [whoops,
already said that!].

I could waffle all day on this subject but i feel my comments are not
being directed specifically to your purpose. give us a url and we can
have a look...
