Hi Steve.

I have discovered that masking a movie clip has the same effect as removing
it from the timeline -- it becomes inaccessible and is reset to frame 1
when it is unmasked. Not sure if you're using a true mask. But if you are
moving the mc, that means you're inserting a new keyframe, which will also
reset it. Instead, make a 2-frame mc, frame one with a graphic that blocks
out the counter, frame 2 with no graphic, and place this in a higher layer,
just over the counter. Then use your tiny button to toggle the "masking"
mc between "conceal" and "reveal."
