Almost next to impossible... I heard that there is a hack out there
somewhere that can allow one to open a protected swf file but... the opened
file is practically useless, the timeline and layers are supposedly all
screwed up, apparently the only thing the hack was good for was grabbing the
symbols out of it. I guess it's analogous to, if you've ever programmed,
trying to backwards a compiled program from a final exe to logical editable
code.

...for anyone who can tell me how to find the app that will allow me to edit
an .swf as a fully editable .fla

i lost my hard drive to cluster madness, and while the data recovery folks
in canada are trying to save my life, i still have CD deadlines that must be
met. as long as i can, somehow, extract the .swf off the first run of the
CD project and bring it in as editable, i will be ok.

please tell me one of you geniuses can help. please. please. please.
