First you have to make your text a graphic (press F8
if it's not).

Go to the timeline and creat a keyframe
skip a couple of frames and create another one.
go back to the FIRST keyframe
double click on the graphic and make the alpha channel
0
Than simply tween the two keyframes (double click on
the frame and the Tweening tab and set it to motion).
