FLASH: How to begin Movie clip animation

Hi there, I'm new to this list and also Flash and I seem to be able to

figure out most functions but although I've created a movie clip that

works fine unto itself. When I bring it into my scene, I would like the

animation to start independent of the rest of the movie. It's just a

spinning logo. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is getting

extremely frustrating. I just figure it should work like a film loop in

Director.
