OK, its weird allright.

Are all elements symbols? (I would say so..)
Try copying frames into a new file, the present could be corrupt... (offcourse you will have to re-enter the movie specslike bckgrnd colour, dimensions etc.)
Re- installing Flash?

Its got me, if the above doesnt work, you will have to await the professors replies - DG, JC etc.
