sorry to revive this thread...

this one here from flash just reminds me of the guys in the irish pub round

the corner (probably british soldiers of the local garrison here in krefeld)

who seem to share the same vocabulary; maybe extended by the phrase 'noch

ein bier bitte'. well i guess i shouldn't laugh too loudly, my english isn't

that brilliant and my french is even lousier (although i read sartre and

camus in french, but that was ack in those good ole school days....).
