Subject: RE: FLASH: position of a movie clip REVISED

I'm having some luck with the localToGlobal() command in Flash 5.

The following code seems to work when you attach it to each movie clip.

onClipEvent (load) {
this.localToGlobal(_name);
}

and converts all coords to the global system.

Cheers

Simon

Quack,

Assuming that the burger0 instance was on the Main Timeline and that the
action you are writing is also on the main timeline it would look like
this...

bun_x = burger0.bun._x;
bun_y = burger0.bun._y;

BUT keep in mind that this is the bun instance's position RELATIVE to the
registration point (the little crosshair) of the burger0 symbol. If you want
the bun's ABSOLUTE position in relation to the upper left corner of the
stage it would look like this...

bun_x = burger0._x + burger0.bun._x;
bun_y = burger0._y + burger0.bun._y;

Make sense?
