if you ftp to a server that has the frontpage extensions, you will destroy
them, and they will need to be re-installed by the server admin. You either
need to use the fp publish function, or use "web folder" (windows thing)
which is what fp uses anyways. I know, this is straying from the original
questions, but it is just a fyi, since there were so many comments and such
about ftp and frontpage.

The last version of frontpage I used had 2 different components, one was a
browser/pseudo FTP client, and the other was a WYSIWYG HTMKL editor. I have
previouisly worked on projects where the only means of authentication to
access the server was through Frontpage. All I ever did was use the
pseudo-FTP client to upload my handcoded HTML files, and my images/flash
files.

I now have the Frontpage 2000 program which is bundled with office 2000, and
I cannot seem to find a separate program for the fake FTP that I used to
use. If you are familiar with FP and know how to get to this FTP type
thing, then you can use it to upload all of your files without ever having
to edit anything in the FP editor. I strongly warn against using the FP
editor on any HTML files you have created somewhere else.... it does really
nast things to the files, and can often ruin precise alignments and make
your code completely unreadable.

If you want to contact off list, I can try and help you workout how to get
onto the server FP FTP.

Last time i cheked frontpage was jsut a html editor. HTML is HTML. you dont
export it. its jsut there. its static and anyone can see your code by simply
clicking view source on their browser. There really is no difference in a
file saved in frontpage and a file saved in dreamweaver. its jsut all html.

maybe i am missing something.

Frontpage has nothing to do with this equation. Flash files are made by a
developer in flash, same with generator. a Generator template is outputed on
the fly, but this again has nothing to do with frontpage.

I really think I must be missing somehting.

maybe soeone else can shed some light on this.
