Subject: FLASH: Flash 5 Plugin problems

Hey MM...

Have a problem with a Flash 5 movie. It detects properly if a user has the
Flash 4 plugin and provides the link to Macromedia to get the Flash 5
plugin. When the user clicks on this link, the Flash 5 plugin downloads and
installs (on IE), however, when the Flash 5 movie is refreshed, it still
tells them they need the Flash 5 player. HOWEVER, once the user reboots the
machine, the Flash 5 movie plays fine. There is no indication anywhere that
the user would have to reboot, we've had this happen on 3 or 4 machines and
they all resolve the same (some are on W2K, some W98, but all on IE). Just
tested in NS, and a message came up saying the system had to be restarted.

At any point, why are people having to restart their systems in order to be
able to update the plugin? It really seems hardly worth it to do this, and
unfortunately the movie we made has Flash 5 specific code.

TIA,
jb
