Did you trace it by hand, or by using 'trace bitmap'?

Tracing by hand is tedious, but it's the best way for

file-size by far.  Created two layers, put your GIFs in

the bottom layer and lock that layer.  You can trace

on the top layer and delete the bottom layer when

finished.


You could also try adobe streamline, but I don't think

it will even get you results comparable to 'trace bitmap'.
