Here's some info on Flash vs. LiveMotion:

from pg. 54 of the September issue of Mac Addict - excerpted from a review
of LiveMotion:

"If you need to create heavily interactive and scripted interactive pages
[note from me: for example, drag-and-drop quizzes], Flash is still the way
to go, but if you're creating Web animation and have used After Effects,
LiveMotion is worth a look. It's still a better drawing and animation tool
than Flash, and it's an exciting first release."

However, the September issue of Macworld rates LiveMotion only 3.5 out of 5
stars:

"LiveMotion can't match Flash 4's advanced authoring features, and it lacks
Flash's vast constellation of third-party developer resources."

Sorry I'm not speaking from direct experience with LiveMotion, but at least
I read up on it - I recently considered whether to buy the software and
learn it, and I decided not to. I'll invest the time and money later if
LiveMotion gets better. But at least for now (and probably for a while yet),
Flash is the better of the two programs.

>From what I have read, Flash's timeline structure is supposedly more
laborious and time-consuming than LiveMotion's time-based structure (having
an action occur 3 seconds after the start of a clip, for example, rather
than in a particular keyframe), but I like Flash a lot so far! Go Flash go!
:)
