FLASH: buttonactions in in movieclip don't work?!?

I have about 5 scenes that each have a button with a dropdown menu which is

called on with a telltarget and open up on rollover.  In that mc I placed

buttons that I had already created that take me to other scenes.  Now before

when these submenu buttons where just placed in the scene they worked fine,

but now when they are in the mc, still with the same actions- goto

scene...etc they don't work? If I test movie the up,over,down states work,

they just don't take me to the other scene?


What am I missing?

I thank you for any input, I've checked Macromedia and several tutorials

etc, but they don't seem to show this exact issue?
